This is a shame. Eve Carson touched lives, and changed people. Who cares what her forefathers did? Why should it matter? What makes Carson beautiful is that she cared about people. I find this totally disrespectful, that in the time of bereavement somebody would publish such facts, that have no backing.

I would recommend that you reevaluate yourself as a person.

I really can’t express how much your words disgust me. Eve touched the lives of literally thousands of people and – unlike you – embraced people from all races and walks of life.

For proof, all you need to do is look at her many, many friends and the people who cared for her at UNC and beyond. But, if you want more evidence of her selfless nature, she also spent summers volunteering in Central America and Africa and started a foundation to feed the hungry, to name a few.

When was the last time you volunteered anything except your totally baseless, classless and ignorant opinion?

You want to write about race relations? Fine. You want to write about inequality? Fine. But don’t try to pass off lies, a random quote and your own delusions as some sort of newsworthy story. And most of all, don’t try to besmirch Eve. Try to show at least a little dignity.

Your pathetic attempt to turn Eve’s senseless murder by a couple of callous dirtbags into some sort of commentary on the vile history of slavery is not only ridiculous, it’s twisted and malicious. She was a beloved member of our Triangle community and a wonderful person.

Suddenly our status quo media has discovered North Carolina’s revolving door prison system. That our urban counties take absolutely no interest in keeping track of violent offenders who are placed on probation by indifferent, overwhelmed judges.Of course Eve Carson’s accused killers were out on probation. That is the way the system works. Repeat offenders are rubber stamped through the system until someone winds up dead. This comes as no news to readers of Meck Deck, of Crime in Charlotte, of Tara Servatius, of The Rhino Times.

The Uptown paper of record knows it has been scooped on this topic and will be scooped indefinitely. There is simply no institutional interest in pursuing this story — reporters know it, so it does not happen. Enjoy the 12-part series on poultry processing plants, then smugly going on WFAE to brag about how much money you spent doing it. Dopes.

EVE CARSON SLAVE HEIRESS?

Here’s another thing, let’s get the language right because it is time to stop speaking in circles. First, suspect Demario James Atwater absolutely is a repeat violent offender. I heard WBTV’s Paul Cameron, a straight-shooter, describe him as otherwise the other night. Not true.

Felony breaking and entering is a violent offense in my book. Using violence to obtain property is a violent offense. I’d also say that possession of a firearm by a felon is a license to strong-arm robbery, if not out-and-out armed robbery where the definition of “brandishing” weapon turns on a victim’s memory and a prosecutor’s caseload.

Second, this was not a random crime. Eve Carson was targeted due to her race, sex, age, and lifestyle. It is simply fantasy to pretend otherwise.

The status quo will never get to those topics.

That doesn’t realistically leave much room for remediation.

The first site, those comments are likely by a fat, jaded, pathetic white nerd made soulless by a decade of constant internet. It’s very common. Internet nerds have no compassion for anything, they exist solely to make fun of things and look at porn.

I agree. That first site is not an Emily Haddock memorial and the negative comments on it are cruel calculated provocations by individuals who are not Black. Look this comment:

“Emily is the little blond girl in Fayetteville who pretended to have strep throat so her parents would let her stay at home. Secretly, though, she’d invited 5 young, black and at-risk boys from her school to come over to her house to rape her. As payment to them, she told them they could rob the house of her parents’ possessions. The boys didn’t want to rape her, though, and it turned violent. She threatened to call the police on them and report it as a break in unless they fufilled the act. When they wouldn’t, she did attempt to call the police. That’s when things, and justifiably so, turn fatal for her.”

Note the meticulous use of puntuation, complex compound sentence structure and flawless spelling. I highly doubt a groid wrote this.
